“The role of students in the development of the university is a key one. Without you, we will not be able to implement any project,” said the head of SSAU.
Valentin Sergeevich emphasized that, despite being busy (every day is now scheduled by the minute), he decided not to postpone the conversation with the students and conduct it in the format of a confidential dialogue.
Young people touched upon a variety of issues, from everyday issues (access control, living conditions in dormitories, visits to sports grounds), to the prospects for the development of the university.
In particular, they asked whether students would be involved in the implementation of the Agroinnopolis 2030 program, for which the university won the largest grant in history under the Priority federal program.
“This is an unprecedented program in terms of scale and opportunities for the development of the university, there are a lot of directions in it, colossal work is ahead and is already being done. And the role of students in this process is key. Without you, we will not be able to implement any project,” said the head of SSAU.
In particular, the intra-university competition for grants in the field of science and innovation will be held on the subject of the Agroinnopolis-2030 program. There are plans to form an acceleration program with the subsequent creation of an innovative infrastructure at the university: a business incubator, a coworking center, a start-up studio.
We also touched upon the topic of grants for student initiatives. A few years ago there was a competition at the university, when students developed and then defended projects in various areas and received funding to implement their ideas. Valentin Sergeevich noted that this practice will be resumed.
Meanwhile, students of SSAU and outside of grants actively participate and win in various competitions, including at the All-Russian level.
For example, the pedagogical student brigade "Dream" operates at the university. Despite the fact that there is no specialized training in this area in the Agrarian, the student team at the end of 2021 became the best twice: in the Stavropol Territory and among the universities of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia. Now the guys will represent the region at the All-Russian competition of student teams. The Acting Rector thanked the activists and expressed confidence that student groups are a great opportunity for young people to develop, become professionals, leaders, and successful people.
“I myself, starting from the school bench, and then in my student years, worked in student brigades and student teams. Participation in this wonderful movement gives confidence, strengthens self-esteem. Already today you are active public figures. And then success awaits you,” said Valentin Sergeevich, promising all kinds of support from the university.
Assistance will also be provided to various student associations of interest: tourism, rock climbing, drawing, debating skills, etc. Hobbies help students discover talents and become champions. For example, a 2nd year student of SSAU Anton Naumenko, while still a freshman, founded an esports club at the university. As a result, the SSAU team becomes the best in the region and the district for the second year in a row.
“Last year, in the tournament of the Russian Cybersport Federation, we won the regional and district stages and went to the final competitions in Moscow. There we saw a training center for local cybersportsmen, equipped with the latest equipment. Will we be able to do this?” Anton asked, adding that in addition to participation, the guys themselves organize tournaments for students and schoolchildren, that is, Agrarny is already a platform for e-sports competitions.
Valentin Sergeevich invited the activists to discuss in detail what equipment is needed for the eSports Center and offered to place it in the Center for Advanced Professional Training, which is already equipped with modern computer technologies.
At the end of the conversation, the acting rector thanked the students for their openness and initiative and offered to hold such meetings on a regular basis.
