An open lecture for 3rd year students on the topic "Ecological efficiency of mineral fertilizers and their role in the production of agricultural products with improved characteristics" was held in Stavropol State Agrarian University. The lesson for future agronomists was conducted by the agronomic service of PhosAgro-Stavropol, one of the main suppliers of fertilizers in the Stavropol Territory and a strategic partner of the university.
PhosAgro-Stavropol is part of the largest distribution network of mineral fertilizers PhosAgro-Region. It has a long and productive cooperation with the Stavropol State Agrarian University. Last year, the PhosAgro-Region educational center started operating in SAU. Computers and multimedia equipment are installed in the classroom for better familiarization of students with advanced agricultural experience. Lectures and practical classes are regularly held here not only for students of the Faculty of Agronomy and graduate students, but also for university teachers and representatives of the agricultural sector of the region. Students are introduced to advanced agricultural technologies, trained in effective crop production and innovations in the field of agriculture.
- Modern agriculture is high-tech. This is no longer the conservative industry in which there have been no changes for years. Now success largely depends on the speed of the introduction of new agricultural practices. We strive to provide our partners not only with the product itself – fertilizers, but also to give the most complete information about the possibilities of their application. It is extremely important here that future agronomists master the latest technologies from the student's bench and can apply them in their future work," said Andrey Tikhonov, director of PhosAgro-Stavropol.
On March 1, the law "On agricultural products, raw materials and food with improved characteristics" came into force in the country. PhosAgro fertilizers were the first mineral fertilizers in the country to be certified for compliance with the Russian national standard. This allows the company to label its products with the "Green Standard" sign.
- The innovations in the use of mineral fertilizers that PhosAgro is developing are very important for crop production in our region, - said Alexander Esaulko, Dean of the Faculty of Agrobiology and Land Resources of SSAU. – The production of agricultural products with improved characteristics can become a competitive advantage for our region. And, taking into account local soil and climatic conditions, the experience of PhosAgro-Stavropol in creating balanced systems of mineral nutrition of plants will allow agricultural enterprises to increase productivity.
