Marathon of financial literacy for students of secondary vocational education of the Stavropol Territory

As part of the implementation of the regional program "Raising the level of financial literacy of the population of the Stavropol Territory and the development of financial education in the Stavropol Territory", a Marathon of financial literacy for students of secondary vocational education of the Stavropol Territory was held on the basis of the Business School "Abc of Money" of the youth Technopark "SmartAgro" of the Stavropol State Agrarian University.

The marathon has been held for five years and assumes the possibility of mastering theoretical issues that will improve financial literacy.

The goal of the marathon is to increase financial literacy and intellectual potential of young people in managing personal financial resources through:

- promotion of knowledge that contributes to the acquisition of reasonable habits and skills in the field of personal (family) budget formation, the use of banking services, including the use of loans, maintaining personal and family budgets, the correctness of the calculation of taxes and their payment, the procedure for life and property insurance;

- identification of new youth initiatives aimed at improving the level of financial literacy of the population of the Stavropol Territory;

- creation of an algorithm for the formation of the habit of the population to the validity of financial decisions made in the management of household finances and personal finances;

- formation of a positive image of a financially literate person.

The Stavropol Regional College, the Faculty of Secondary Vocational Education of the Stavropol State Agrarian University, the General Nikolaev Technical School, the Stavropol State Polytechnic College and the Stavropol Construction College took part in the marathon.

Experts in the financial sector acted as a fair, competent jury, among them:

· Regional Coordinator of the Financial Literacy program of the Ministry of Finance of the Stavropol Territory Nadezhda Ivanovna Gerasimenko;

· Head of the Department for the development of the partner sales channel of the Stavropol regional branch of JSC "Rosselkhoznadzor" Sergey Alexandrovich Podanov;

· Dean of the Accounting and Finance Faculty, Doctor of Economics, Professor Elena Ivanovna Kostyukova;

· Head of the Department of "Financial Management and Banking" of Stavropol State University, Doctor of Economics, Professor Yulia Mikhailovna Sklyarova;

· Candidate of Economics, Associate Professor of the Department of Financial Management and Banking Lyudmila Anatolyevna Latysheva.

The participants had to complete tasks and answer questions on the following topics: insurance, loans, rules for the use of plastic cards, taxation, consumer protection and many others. Applying their financial knowledge, logic, ingenuity, as well as strategic thinking, it was necessary to correctly answer as many questions as possible.

Based on the results of the Game:

· The first place was taken by the team of the Faculty of Secondary Vocational Education of Stavropol State Agrarian University.

· The second is Stavropol State Polytechnic College.

· The third is the Stavropol Construction College.

The winners and prize-winners of the intellectual competition were awarded with diplomas and valuable gifts from the Ministry of Finance of the Stavropol Territory. According to the expert jury, all participants undoubtedly showed brilliant results in financial knowledge, for which they were also awarded special prizes from the Stavropol regional branch of JSC "Rosselkhoznadzor".
