XXX Moscow International Veterinary Congress

The work of the congress was held in 12 conference halls in 32 specialized sections. During the implementation of the program, 322 lecturers delivered 330 thematic reports discussing the most pressing issues in the field of veterinary medicine, as well as 7 practical master classes with demonstrations of modern achievements in science and practice.

Acting Rector of Stavropol State Agrarian University, Professor Valentin Sergeevich Skripkin was directly involved in the organization and work of the XXX Moscow International Veterinary Congress. For 3 days of the program, the event was attended by more than 3 thousand people.

Employees and students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine also took part in the congress from our university:

- head of the Department of Physiology, Surgery and Obstetrics, Professor Andrey Nikolaevich Kvochko,

- head of the Department of Therapy and Pharmacology, Professor Vladimir Aleksandrovich Orobets,

- head of the Department of Parasitology and VSE, Anatomy and Pathology named after S.N. Nikolsky, Professor Olga Vladimirovna Dilekova,

- Professor of the Department of Therapy and Pharmacology Ivan Valentinovich Kireev,

- director of the scientific-diagnostic and medical-veterinary center Sergey Petrovich Dannikov,

- post-graduate students and students of faculties of veterinary medicine and biotechnology.

As part of the congress, the First All-Russian Congress on Veterinary Education was held, which became the largest platform in Russia for discussing problems and prospects related to training in the field of veterinary medicine.

Aide to the President of the Russian Federation Andrey Aleksandrovich Fursenko, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Maxim Iosifovich Uvaidov, Chairman of the Agroobrazovanie Association, Rector of the Russian State Agrarian University of the Moscow Agricultural Academy named after K.A. Timiryazev, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Vladimir Ivanovich Trukhachev, Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Irina Mikhailovna Donnik.

During the congress, more than 50 reports were discussed, including representatives of federal authorities and subjects of the country, 4 rectors and 10 deans of specialized universities, 10 students of universities and academies, 6 heads of the largest organizations in the field of agriculture and veterinary medicine, representatives of specialized trade unions and professional associations.

As a member of the organizing committee and speaker of the Congress, Acting Rector of SSAU, Professor Valentin Sergeevich Skripkin acted. In his report on the theme “Practice-oriented approach in the training of specialists in the field of veterinary medicine and animal science in Stavropol State Agrarian University” Valentin Sergeevich shared his experience in organizing practical training for students at our university. During the discussion, which was attended by the rectors of agricultural universities and all heads of specialized faculties, ways of development and prospects for improving the quality of the organization of the educational process in the specialty veterinary medicine were outlined.

Also from our university, post-graduate student of the Department of Therapy and Pharmacology Alexander Onishchenko made a report “Students' readiness for research work in the postgraduate period” and a student of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Anna Gorbatova made a report “Formation of the educational environment in practice-oriented education at the university”. During the discussion, the reports received a high professional assessment.

One of the main results of the congress was the adoption of a resolution, which in 14 points consolidated the main decisions reached, as well as agreements were reached on the prospects for opening a residency in the field of Veterinary Medicine. Also, in the course of the Congress, the program of the FUMO meeting on an enlarged group of areas and specialties 36.00.00 Veterinary and animal science was implemented, which determined the ways of updating the regulatory framework and optimizing veterinary education.

The congress program included a competition for the right to receive the Silver Microscope award. The competition commission from our university included the acting rector, Professor V.S. Skripkin as Vice-Chairman and Professor A.N. Kvochko as a member of the commission. This award is considered very prestigious in the professional and academic environment. Stavropol State Agrarian University was represented in the competition by the first-year postgraduate student of the Department of Therapy and Pharmacology Alexandra Aleksandrovna Bushmina with the report “Feline Dermatitis: Clinical Diagnostic Features and Optimization of Therapy”. According to the results of the assessment by competent experts, the work of A.A. Bushmina was awarded with high marks and the Diploma of the winner of the “Silver Microscope” III degree.

In addition to the scientific, practical and methodological part, an extensive business program was implemented during the congress. University staff headed by Acting Rector, Professor V.S. Skripkin held a number of meetings with strategic panthers, at which agreements were reached on the implementation of joint projects in the field of training and scientific research.

The Moscow International Veterinary Congress has traditionally been the largest platform in Eastern Europe for many years, the work of which is aimed at improving the quality of veterinary services and raising the level of training of specialists in the field of veterinary medicine. The participation of the delegation of our university in the work of the congress made it possible to get acquainted with the latest achievements of science and technology in veterinary medicine and share their own experience with leading scientists and practitioners of the country.
