Inter-faculty tournament on financial literacy “Money does not buy happiness”

The annual inter-faculty tournament on financial literacy “Money can’t buy happiness” for students of Stavropol State Agrarian University was held at the Business School “ABC of Money” of the Youth Technopark “FoodNet” of Stavropol State Agrarian University. The event was held as part of the regional program “Improving the level of financial literacy of the population of the Stavropol Territory and developing financial education in the Stavropol Territory for 2020-2023” was organized by the Financier.

The goal of the tournament is to increase the financial literacy and intellectual potential of young people in managing personal financial resources through:

– promotion of knowledge that contributes to the acquisition of reasonable habits and skills in the field of forming a personal (family) budget, using banking services, including using loans, maintaining a personal and family budget, correct calculation of taxes and their payment, life and property insurance procedures;

- identifying new youth initiatives aimed at improving the level of financial literacy of the population of the Stavropol Territory;

– creating an algorithm for shaping the habit of the population to the validity of financial decisions taken in the management of household finances and personal finances;

– formation of a positive image of a financially literate person.

The competition was attended by teams that consisted of students from 8 faculties of Stavropol State Agrarian University.

The competent jury was Larisa Sergeevna Khudyakova, Deputy Director of the Stavropol Regional Branch of Rosselkhozbank; Dean of the Faculty of Accounting and Finance, Doctor of Economics, Professor Elena Ivanovna Kostyukova; Head of the Department of Financial Management and Banking, Doctor of Economics, Professor Yulia Mikhailovna Sklyarova; Candidate of Economics, Associate Professor of the Department of Financial Management and Banking Lyudmila Anatolyevna Latysheva.

Thanks to the game “Money Can't Buy Happiness”, all participants demonstrated quite deep knowledge in the field of personal finance, erudition and ingenuity, and well-coordinated teamwork allowed them to quickly, efficiently and in a good mood master complex economic concepts and practice managing their personal budget.

At the end of the tournament:

· The first place was taken by the team of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.

· The second is accounting and finance faculty.

· The third is the Faculty of Economics.

The winners and prize-winners were awarded diplomas, valuable gifts and certificates for participation.
