Excursion to the Stavropol fruit nursery centre of LLC Gardens of Stavropolia

Students from Agrobiology and Land Resources and Ecology and Landscape Architecture visited the Stavropol fruit nursery centre of LLC Gardens of Stavropol.

The event was organised as part of practice-oriented student training with the support of the Rector of the Stavropol State Agrarian University and the Dean of the Faculty of Agrobiology and Land Resources, Professor Alexander Yesaulko of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The trip was held under the guidance of the Deputy Dean for Practical Training of Students, Associate Professor of Agrochemistry and Plant Physiology Department Alyona Yurievna Ozheredova, and the technician, Yulia Nikolaevna Kuzminova, a 2nd year master's student.

The excursion started in Sunzha village located on the territory of Mineralovodskiy municipal district, with acquaintance with the company's own fruit storage facility. Head of the fruit storage facility at the Gardens of Stavropolia fruit storage facility Marina Grigorievna Tsymbalova demonstrated refrigerated storage for seedlings, intended for further planting in the nursery. The trees are kept in optimal and gentle conditions, eliminating the need to bury them for the winter.

The next stage of the company's production cycle took place in Sukhaya Padina village. Sukhaya Padina, where the students were shown the nursery area with 3 mln seedlings of recovered material. Also, during the tour, led by Bashirov Jamil Dilshodovich, a senior agronomist of nursery, the advanced modern equipment used for spraying and weed control was clearly demonstrated. Students showed the greatest interest at this stage of the tour and asked many questions directly related to production and becoming a young professional nurseryman.

The final destination was a trip to Nevinnomyssk to the Stavropol Fruit Valley Ltd. where the students were met by Maxim Yuryevich Vashchenko, Deputy Director. During the walk the territory of the blossoming orchard was presented, the rules of establishment and care of pear and apple trees were described in detail. To students the basic information on sorts of cultivated fruit crops, an experimental site with trees of a peach and a cherry tree, conditions of work at the enterprise has been sounded.

At the end of the tour the students thanked all the employees and managers of the production units of LLC "Gardens of Stavropolya". For the high level of organization of the event special thanks should be given to the hiring manager - Anna Yurievna Glazunova. Many of the students were interested in the opportunity to work at the company, because in today's conditions, the demand for domestic production will only grow, which means that the profession will be in high demand for many years to come.
