Students of Stavropol State Agrarian University and employees of the university's strategic partner "PhosAgro-Stavropol" laid a field experiment with the use of mineral fertilizers

Practical training for students was held on the basis of the educational and experimental farm of the university in the village of Demino.

Sunflower and corn sowing technology was studied in practice by students of 1-3 years of agronomic specialties of Stavropol State Agrarian University. During the practical seminar, future agronomists got acquainted with the process of soil preparation, seeder adjustment, technology of mineral fertilizer application.

Plant mineral nutrition scheme was presented by PhosAgro-Stavropol, one of the main suppliers of fertilizers in the Stavropol Territory and a strategic partner of the university. The company is part of the largest Russian mineral fertilizer distribution network PhosAgro-Region, which operates in over 70 regions of Russia.

During the lesson students together with specialists from PhosAgro-Stavropol laid out agronomic experiments to evaluate the effectiveness of pre-sowing application of innovative brands of PhosAgro mineral fertilizers in corn cultivation in conditions of black soil, typical for Stavropol region.

- We have been conducting experiments on the basis of the educational and experimental farm of the Stavropol State Agrarian University for several years. The data obtained allow us to draw conclusions about the effectiveness of different variants of introducing fertilizers and recommend to the farmers methods of optimizing mineral nutrition to get the maximum income," Andrey Tikhonov, director of PhosAgro-Stavropol, commented. - The pre-sowing application of mineral fertilizers for row crops is very important for crop formation. And we participate in such a scientific and practical field seminar for the first time. I think that students will appreciate this format, and it will help them to master the most modern techniques, which are used today in agronomy.

It is our strategic partner, the company has valuable experience in the application of mineral fertilizers," said Evgeny Golosnoy, head of the Department of Agrochemistry and Plant Physiology at St. Petersburg State Agrarian University.

Last year, the educational center "PhosAgro-Region" started working at the Stavropol State Agrarian University. The classroom is equipped with computers and multimedia equipment to provide students with a better understanding of best agricultural practices. Lectures and practical classes are regularly held here not only for agronomy students and postgraduate students, but also for university professors and representatives of the region's agricultural sector. The trainees are introduced to advanced agro-technologies, taught effective crop production and innovations in agriculture.
