Scientific Regiment SSAU

Stavropol State Agrarian University has joined the All-Russian campaign "Scientific Regiment", which is carried out by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

"Scientific Regiment" is a series of publications about students and teachers, about scientists who, during the years of the Great Patriotic War, brought the Victory closer with their military and labor feat.

The main goal of the project is the patriotic education of young people and the preservation of the memory of the Great Victory. Thousands of students, teachers, workers and employees of institutes volunteered to go to the front. Their memory must live on!

Vylegzhanin Arkady Fedorovich was born on December 21, 1925 in the village of Nechukhi, Orichevsky District, Kirov Region, into a family of employees.

After graduating from high school, he entered the Kirov Agricultural Institute at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, from which he graduated with honors and in 1948 was admitted to graduate school at the Department of Veterinary Sanitary Expertise, which he successfully completed, defending his thesis and receiving the degree of candidate of veterinary sciences.

In 1952, after graduating from graduate school at the Kirov Agricultural Institute, he defended his Ph.D. thesis on the topic: “Paratyphoid bacillus carrying among slaughter cattle” and was sent by distribution to the city of Makhachkala to teach at the Dagestan Agricultural Institute, where he worked as a senior teacher at the Department of Parasitology , veterinary sanitary examination and organization of veterinary business until April 1961.

Being an extraordinary person, a bright, purposeful person, he always enthusiastically devoted himself to his favorite work, having and defending his point of view on a number of controversial issues in veterinary medicine. In 1961 he was appointed head of the laboratory at the Research Institute of Industry of the Council of National Economy of Dagestan, where he worked until May 1963. He always strived to continue scientific research in the field of ichthyopathology. From 1963 to 1966 he worked as an assistant professor, and then as head of the department of ichthyology and fish farming at the Astrakhan State Technical Institute, where he was closely involved in writing a doctoral dissertation, conducting a large number of studies. In 1966, he returned to work at his native Kirov Agricultural Institute, where he worked as an assistant professor, professor, head of the department of veterinary and sanitary examination with microbiology. In 1967 he defended his doctoral dissertation, and from 1968 to 1970 he headed the Department of Veterinary and Sanitary Expertise and Microbiology at the Kirov Agricultural Institute.

After defending his doctoral dissertation in 1970, he was invited to the post of head of the department of pathological anatomy and veterinary and sanitary examination at the Stavropol Agricultural Institute. From 1970 to 1982, he headed the Department of Pathological Anatomy and Veterinary and Sanitary Expertise of the Stavropol Agricultural Institute. He worked in the Stavropol Agricultural Institute from 1970 to 1998 - 28 years. The author of more than 120 scientific and methodological works, he was a co-author of a textbook on "Veterinary and Sanitary Expertise", recognized at the world level.

28 years of life were associated with the veterinary science of the Stavropol Territory, with the veterinary faculty of the Stavropol State Agrarian University, with the direction of veterinary and sanitary examination. The scientist was awarded with thanks and certificates for many years of fruitful work. Graduates of the veterinary faculty still remember their teacher and try to adequately carry out the veterinary service.
