Conducting seminars on dairy cattle breeding in the Republic of Tatarstan as part of the implementation of Priority 2030 activities

Scientists of the Faculty of Biotechnology, at the invitation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, took part in training seminars on the introduction of an innovative dairy herd management system, which were held on the basis of the breeding enterprise JSC State Enterprise "Elita".

The innovative dairy herd management system, developed at the Stavropol State Agrarian University by a creative research team led by Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vladimir Ivanovich Trukhachev and implemented in strategic projects under the guidance of Professor of the Basic Department of Private Zootechnics, Selection and Breeding of Animals Oleinik Sergey Alexandrovich, is of particular interest to practitioners from different regions of Russia. Followers and students of our scientists are already introducing elements of an innovative approach to dairy herd management in the Samara region, practitioners in the Moscow region, as well as in other regions, are showing interest.

Representatives of the breeding state enterprise "Elite" have already previously undergone practice-oriented training on the basis of the Center for Management of Highly Productive Livestock Genetic Resources on the introduction of innovative approaches to assessing the conformation and constitutional traits of animals, organizing and conducting accounting of the milk productivity of breeding cows and taking individual milk samples to determine quality indicators in the laboratory of selection control of milk quality.

For the practical implementation of innovative approaches, at the initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, large-scale training seminars were held on the basis of Elita State Enterprise JSC, in which 129 representatives of breeding services from 101 enterprises and organizations in the field of breeding dairy cattle breeding, out of 34 regions of the republic.

In his lectures, Professor of the Basic Department of Private Zootechnics, Selection and Breeding of Animals Oleinik Sergey Alexandrovich informed the audience about the main directions for the development and implementation of innovative approaches in the field of breeding dairy cattle breeding, conducting research work within the framework of strategic projects of the program of academic leadership "Priority-2030", organizing the interaction of the control-assistant service with the breeding farms of the Stavropol Territory.

Professor Oleinik also introduced the seminar participants to practical experience in attracting faculty, best graduate students and students of the Faculty of Biotechnology to participate in accounting activities in breeding farms. Established in 2016, the Laboratory for Breeding Quality Control of Milk is currently a full-fledged participant in the breeding business in the Stavropol Territory, monthly in the Laboratory, specialists E.V. Yanochkina, as well as D.R. Nizeva and D.S. Grushko study about 6-6.5 thousand samples of milk from 8 breeding farms of the Stavropol Territory. Under the guidance of Associate Professor A.A. Pokotilo, the control-assistant service takes part in the control milking of breeding cows and conducts sampling of individual milk samples, which, in accordance with the technological temperature, are delivered to the Milk Quality Control Laboratory of our university.

Almagul Zhivalbayeva, head of the department for breeding work of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Samara Region, shared similar achievements with the participants of the seminar, who in her report thanked the scientists of the Stavropol State Agrarian University for the practical experience gained in organizing the work of the control-assistant service in dairy cattle breeding. K.S. Zhikhareva, an employee of Plinor LLC, presented the issues of keeping information breeding records using the Selex program.

Heads, specialists and representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan, JSC GPP Elita Zaripov F.R., Zakirov I.R., Valeev R.R., Akhmetzyanova L.A. expressed gratitude to the scientists of our university for the work done in conducting training seminars and expressed confidence in the continuation of mutual cooperation in the field of innovative development of pedigree dairy farming.
