In Russian society, the family is the most important thing in life for every person. These are close and dear people, those whom we love, whom we take an example from, whom we care about. And if much attention is paid to the history of the Fatherland in education, then the issues of studying the history of individual families, of which there are millions in Russia and which form the history of the Fatherland, are practically not considered at all. The history of our state is the history of each of us, the history of every family.
On the eve of the celebration of the 77th anniversary of the Great Victory, the Accounting and Finance Faculty hosted a presentation of the book “Our Family in the History of the Fatherland” by Boris Alekseevich Doronin, Professor of the Department of Finance, Credit and Insurance.
The event was attended by teachers and students of the Faculty of Accounting and Finance.
The book presents the history of the family in the context of significant events in the history of the Fatherland. It describes in detail the historical events of the Fatherland, in which the ancestors of Boris Alekseevich took part, gives a brief description of the Old Forstadt of Stavropol, in which the professor's relatives lived, describes the genealogical tree of the family on the maternal and paternal lines, and examines the history of the family in the post-war period. Special attention is focused on the building of the new building of the Stavropol State Agrarian University, which is the beginning of the Stavropol Forstadt, in the design and construction of which Boris Alekseevich made a huge contribution.
Most Russians can hardly remember the life and deeds of their grandfathers, great-grandfathers and their participation in significant events in the history of the Fatherland. As a result, this systemic contradiction leads to the indifference of the younger generation to the history of their family and Fatherland.
Today, it is not easy to restore the history of previous generations, since the parish registers were destroyed along with the churches. Therefore, it is necessary to collect bit by bit the history and merits of previous generations from various sources. Our ancestors created the Great Russian Empire and modern Russia, defended its sovereignty in battles and preserved a unique civilization, therefore they deserve to be remembered, and not renamed the streets of their victories.
“The holding of such meetings leaves a deep imprint in the soul of a person and makes it possible to learn the history of the country and the history of an individual family in the history of a great country firsthand,” the students shared their impressions of the meeting.
At the end of the meeting, Boris Alekseevich quoted Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin: “Keeping the memory of ancestors is nobility, but forgetting them is ingratitude.”
