Future agronomists visited the state farm named after Kirov

There was a field trip for students in the fields of study "Тechnology of production of crop products", "Agronomy", "Plant protection", "Fruit and vegetable growing" in CJSC "Sovkhoz named after Kirov" of the Stavropol Territory, Trunovsky MD. The tour began with a demonstration of winter wheat and sunflower fields, both crops grown on the farm to produce their own seed material. The farm also grows winter barley, winter rapeseed, peas, corn, and flax.

The students were accompanied by the deputy dean for practical training of students Ozheredova Alena Yuryevna and the master of the second year of study under the program "Agrochemical fundamentals of managing plant nutrition and soil fertility" Kuzminova Yulia Nikolaevna.

The trip was planned after a personal meeting with a representative of the state farm named after Kirov, recruitment manager Babeshko Gulnara Nailovna with the Dean of the Faculties of Agrobiology and Land Resources; Ecology and Landscape Architecture, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences Esaulko Alexander Nikolaevich and his deputy Ozheredova Alena Yurievna.

The sightseeing bus was met everywhere in the village of Kirov by Gulnara Nailovna Babeshko, a recruitment manager, and Aleksey Viktorovich Popov, deputy chief agronomist of the state farm named after Kirov.

In 2022, an irrigation system was installed on an area of ​​2000 hectares. Aleksey Viktorovich introduced Konstantin Aleksandrovich Polyakov to the children, a field agronomist who is a 2000 graduate of the Stavropol State Agrarian University. Konstantin Aleksandrovich showed the children how oil flax is fed with a carbide-ammonia mixture.

The next stop after observing the technological operation was the current. Near the current, the guys were met by: Varnavsky Sergey Vladimirovich, executive director, Puchkov Vladimir Viktorovich, head of the current, Zotova Olesya Aleksandrovna, head of the laboratory.

Employees of the state farm named after Kirov greeted the students, asked the guys what impressed them during the field trip and answered the students' questions with pleasure.

Olesya Alexandrovna told the children about her interesting work in the laboratory to determine the quality indicators of seeds, the guys themselves tried to take a sample for analysis on an infrared analyzer, and conducted a quick test for moisture and protein content.

The head of the laboratory showed the children the territory of the current: warehouses, grain cleaning units. After an entertaining walk, employees of the canteen of the state farm named after Kirov fed the children a delicious lunch. The students were impressed by the farm, its technical equipment. As a result of the meeting, seven people expressed their desire to go through their technological practice on the basis of the state farm next year.
