Stavropol State Agrarian University has joined the All-Russian campaign "Academical Regiment", which is carried out by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.
"Academical Regiment" is a series of publications about students and teachers, about scientists who, during the years of the Great Patriotic War, brought the Victory closer with their military and labor feat.
The main goal of the project is the patriotic education of young people and the preservation of the memory of the Great Victory. Thousands of students, teachers, workers and employees of institutes volunteered to go to the front. Their memory must live on!

Veniamin Fedorovich Glukhov was born on October 27, 1923 in the Stalingrad region, Ilovlinsky district on the Kuznetsy farm. In 1940 he entered the first year of the Stalingrad Pedagogical Institute. In August-September 1941, together with other employees and students of the institute, he took part in the construction of defensive lines in the Stalingrad region, and then went to work at the Stalingrad Tank Plant. Until the beginning of the defense of Stalingrad, he worked as a turner-borer in the workshops of the plant. From here he was called up for service on August 27, 1942 as a Red Army soldier in the 19th motorized engineering brigade of the 3rd Guards (from February 1943) tank army of the 1st Ukrainian Front, which later became known as Shumenskaya for the capture of the Bulgarian city.
In 1945, already in the rank of corporal, Veniamin Fedorovich was awarded the medal "For Courage" for crossing the river. Oder, and on October 26, 1945, with the rank of sergeant, he was awarded the Polish medal "For Freedom and Liberty". In addition to these awards, he was awarded medals "For the defense of Stalingrad", "For the capture of Berlin", "For the liberation of Prague", "For the victory over Germany". In addition to I Ukrainian, he fought on the Stalingrad, Southern, Steppe and II Ukrainian fronts. He completed his service on February 4, 1947 with the rank of lieutenant. During the Great Patriotic War, V.F. Glukhov had one wound and a shell shock.
In 1947 he entered the 1st year of the veterinary faculty of the Stavropol State Agricultural Institute, from which he graduated in 1952 as a veterinarian. I worked as a veterinarian for two years. In 1954 he entered graduate school, and in 1956 Glukhov V.F. defended his thesis for a candidate of veterinary sciences on the topic “Anti-mite treatment of cattle with acaricidal emulsions in the prevention of hemosporidiosis in the conditions of the Stavropol Territory and their impact on the ixodofauna”. In 1974, he defended his thesis for the Doctor of Veterinary Sciences on the topic "Epizootic significance of ticks in paratyphoid, typhoid, pasteurellosis of birds and Aujeszky's disease." From 1971 to 1985 he worked as the head of the Department of Microbiology and Virology. For more than a quarter of a century, V.F. Glukhov has been studying ticks as parasites and carriers of pathogens of infectious animal diseases.
By 1960, when the candidate of veterinary sciences, associate professor V.F. Glukhov became the dean, the faculty had earned a reputation as one of the largest centers in the south of Russia for the training of highly qualified veterinary specialists. The collective farms and state farms of the region sought to send promising young men and women here, although the specialty of a veterinarian could also be obtained at their republican and regional institutes. By the time of his appointment as the head of the Department of Microbiology and Virology, he had experience as the dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, vice-rector for advanced training and vice-rector for scientific work. At the same time, he set a personal example in scientific research. Published more than 100 scientific papers. From 1960 to 1964 he worked as the dean of the faculty, and from 1966 to 1983 he served as vice-rector of the SAI.
Based on the results of his research, V.F. Glukhov submitted recommendations to the Main Veterinary Administration of the country on the fight against typhus, paratyphoid, pasteurellosis of birds, Aujeszky's disease and the prevention of these diseases. These recommendations were based on anti-tick treatments of poultry houses and animals.
Professor V.F. Glukhov co-authored the textbook "Cultivation of Animal Cells and Tissues" (1986). In October 1982, the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR awarded V.F. Glukhov the honorary title "Honored Worker of Science of the RSFSR". Throughout his life Glukhov V.F. was awarded 12 government awards.
