An international conference on agricultural education began on the basis of the Timiryazev Academy. The discussion platform brought together 90 participants, including 39 rectors of agricultural universities. Several hundred representatives of the agrarian community follow the progress of the conference online. The work began with a panel discussion.
The international scientific and practical conference "Agrarian Education in the 21st Century: Trends and Prospects" at the Timiryazev Academy aroused great interest in Russia and abroad.
The event was started by the Director of the Department of Education, Science and Technology Policy and the Fishery Complex Nina Alexandrovna Ivanova, and the main report was presented by the Rector of the Russian State Agrarian University - Moscow Agricultural Academy named after K.A. Timiryazev, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor, Chairman of the Association "Agricultural Education" Vladimir Ivanovich Trukhachev.
The conference is attended by the Acting Rector of SSAU, Professor Valentin Sergeevich Skripkin.
In his report, the rector of the Timiryazev Academy, Vladimir Ivanovich Trukhachev, outlined the main problem of the agricultural sector, which is the shortage of highly qualified specialists. The aging of the staff and the lack of special qualifications and education pose serious challenges for agricultural universities in this direction.
V.I. Trukhachev named the key tasks of agricultural universities, including updating educational programs in accordance with the requirements of employers and professional standards, modernizing the management system of agricultural universities, advancing the development of modern technologies in the agro-industrial complex, and strengthening the material and technical base.
For Stavropol State Agrarian University, this task is paramount. As part of the implementation of the Priority 2030 program, the university launched the Agrokadry-2030 project. The project was created to increase the personnel potential of the industry and develop the research and development sector. Agricultural personnel are called upon to create a system of advanced training of personnel of a new formation to meet the demands of future high-tech markets; as well as the rapid formation of competencies among the workers of the agro-industrial complex of the region, which will provide them with the opportunity to work with new technologies for the production of agricultural products.
“Already today we are implementing additional education programs for managers of rural areas, heads of agricultural enterprises, farmers, teachers of agricultural specialties, and of course students. We expect that by 2030 the Agrokadry 20.30 educational system will provide the region with a new generation of professionals for the intensive development of agriculture,” says Valentin Sergeyevich Skripkin.
The rector of the Moscow Veterinary Academy named after K.I. Scriabin Sergei Vladimirovich Pozyabin reported on the development of veterinary and zootechnical education. Rector of the Bashkir State Agrarian University Ildar Ismagilovich Gabitov spoke about the digital transformation of agricultural education. The head of Saratov State Agrarian University, Dmitry Alexandrovich Solovyov, reported on the first results of the implementation of the Priority 2030 academic leadership program at the university. In an online format, the key directions for the development of agricultural education in their countries were presented by Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the Kuban State Agrarian University, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexei Petukh, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation of Tashkent State Agrarian University Alisher Najimiddinovich Khasanov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the Kyrgyz AU named after K.I. Scriabin Almazbek Shukurbaevich Irgashev.
