Stavropol State Agrarian University actively supports the movement of student production teams. In May, on the basis of the university, with the support of the Ministry of Education and Youth Policy of the Stavropol Territory, the X Regional Olympiad of participants of student production teams was held. The main goal of the Olympiad is to identify and develop schoolchildren’s creative abilities and interest in research activities, to identify the most gifted schoolchildren who have solid knowledge in the general education disciplines of the school curriculum and to attract the maximum number of graduates of rural schools to an agricultural university.
This year, after a long break (due to pandemic restrictions), Stavropol State Agrarian University resumed the Olympiad, which was attended by 167 schoolchildren from 19 municipal and city districts and 3 cities of the region.
At the first stage, schoolchildren competed in 5 competitions in general subjects: biology, physics, geography, social science and history. Participants were distributed by subjects as follows: biology - 91 people, physics - 35 people and geography - 14 participants, social science - 16 people and history - 10 people.
At the second stage of the Olympiad, all participants competed in competitions in 14 areas: plant growing; fruit and vegetable grower; livestock technologist; food technologist; veterinarian; landscape design; arborist; land surveyor; mechanic; an electrician; inventor and innovator; ecologist; restaurateur-hotelier; tour operator-travel agent.
In terms of the number of schoolchildren who took part, the competition "Veterinary Doctor" was in first place, 25 schoolchildren took part in it. The second place was taken by the competition "Landscape Designer" and "Plant Breeder" - 18 schoolchildren each. In third place is the contest "Restaurateur-Hotelier" - 16 participants.
The best results at the end of all stages of the Olympiad were shown by:
Ponomareva Daria Sergeevna from the secondary school No. 3 of the village of Kugulta of the Grachevsky municipal district - 253 points (competition “Restaurateur-Hotelier”);
Rudko Marina Sergeevna from the Secondary School No. 2 in the village of Arzgir - 283 points (competition “Plant Breeder”);
Belova Yulianna Andreevna from the secondary school No. 15 in the village of Kazinka, Shpakovsky municipal district - 231 points (competition “Restaurateur-Hotelier”).
