"Farmer's School" is a federal project aimed at increasing professionalism in the agricultural sector. In Stavropol Territory the fifth stage of the project is already underway. It is implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture of Stavropol Krai, the regional branch of Rosselkhozbank and Stavropol State Agrarian University. Practical and theoretical classes are held on the basis of the university. The best teachers, professors and doctors of sciences reveal to the students the intricacies of agriculture.
On the basis of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine laboratory-practical classes were held for students of the program "Organization and functioning of peasant (farmer) farms", which is implemented within the project "Farmer's School".
Classes on the reproduction of cattle and small ruminants (cows and sheep) held professor of the Department of Physiology, Surgery and Obstetrics Nikolai Vasilyevich Belugin.
Theoretical classes were held at the Department of Obstetrics of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. During the lectures were shown films and presentations maximally revealing the topics.
The teacher considered in details the questions of anatomy and physiology of reproductive organs and lacteal gland of cows and sheep, and also the questions of organization and technology of artificial insemination of cattle.
Mastering and practicing the practical skills in diagnosing the functional state and pathology of reproductive organs took place in the vivarium of the Stavropol State Agricultural University.
The planned topics of theoretical knowledge and practical skills were successfully mastered by the listeners. They mastered the methods of diagnostics of pregnancy, mastitis, receiving seminal fluid from rams and evaluation of its quality macro and microscopically. Trainees have mastered thawing of seminal fluid and evaluation of its quality.
