SSAU students will study using "digital twins"

23.09.2022

The Russian IT company SimInTech, which is one of the domestic leaders in Russia and the CIS in the development and design of complex energy facilities, has opened the first training laboratory in Stavropol at the Stavropol State Agrarian University.

The laboratory "Simulation of electrical systems and devices in the SimInTech environment" was opened at the Faculty of Electrical Power Engineering of SSAU. From now on, students of the specialties "Electric power and electrical engineering", "Electrical equipment and electrical technologies in the agro-industrial complex" and "Automation and robotization of technological processes in the agro-industrial complex" will study the modeling of technological processes.

The following guests of honor attended the opening ceremony:

· Valentin Sergeevich Skripkin - Acting Rector of the Stavropol State Agrarian University, professor;

· Vyacheslav Nikolaevich Petukhov - General Director of SiminTech (Limited Liability Company "3V Service");

· Ilya Petrovich Kolotyrkin - Commercial Director of SiminTech (Limited Liability Company "3V Service");

· Vasily Vasilyevich Glushakov - Deputy Minister of Energy, Industry and Communications of the Stavropol Territory;

· Maksim Alekseevich Mastepanenko - Dean of the Electrical Power Faculty of the Stavropol State Agrarian University, Associate Professor.

“Today, as part of the Priority 2030 federal project, we opened a classroom that has no analogues in the country. Thanks to the general partner CJSC 3V Service (SimInTech) for the fact that our teachers and students received unique software. Completely import-independent. It will give our graduates competencies and practical experience that will be in demand in the labor market,” said Valentin Skripkin, Acting Rector of SSAU, in his welcoming speech.

The software provided to the university by the developer - the SimInTech company - will allow students to solve applied and fundamental problems in the field of electric power and electrical engineering. The training will be conducted using the technology of "digital twins", that is, virtual prototypes of real production assets that students will meet later at work.

“Now we are working in nuclear energy and other powerful sectors of the economy, but we started our first project in the agricultural sector. Those who work in agriculture, on the ground, have a huge advantage - to see the results of labor quickly. Now the agro-industrial complex is at its peak. On the face - progress in the field of the use of artificial intelligence. We are glad that our mathematical modeling and software environment will help university students become specialists. It is important for us to provide not just a boxed solution that was bought - and well - put on the shelf, but to help benefit the educational process, ”said Vyacheslav Petukhov, CEO of the SimInTech campaign.

The laboratory was built by the campaign of the investor and the university on the terms of co-financing. Equipped the premises of SSAU, and SimInTech provided methodological and software. According to approximate calculations, the campaign invested about 1.8-2 million rubles in the training of Stavropol power engineers. In addition to teaching, the laboratory will be used by the university for scientific research.
