SSAU student wins two WorldSkills Russia championships

In the Republic of Tatarstan, on the basis of the Kazan Expo IEC, the IV industry championship on WorldSkills standards in the field of information technology DigitalSkills 2022 was held, organized by the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation, the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan and ANO "Agency for the Development of Professional Excellence. In parallel with the branch championship, an interuniversity championship was held in Kazan. A student of Stavropol State Agrarian University showed good results.

The DigitalSkills 2022 championship was held among students of secondary and higher education, employees of small, medium and large businesses in the industry. The value of participating in this championship is the opportunity to look at your strengths in comparison with industry experts, practicing professionals. The event covered 29 competencies in the field of information and digital technologies for contestants from 16 to 49 years old. The professional skills of the contestants were evaluated by more than 300 experts.

The Stavropol Territory and Stavropol State Agrarian University in the "Internet Marketing" competency were represented by a 4th year student of the Faculty of Economics of the "State and Municipal Administration and Law" training program Mikhail Alexandrovich Stupnitsky.

The young man was prepared for the championships by: the head of the Center for Advanced Professional Training, Associate Professor of the Department of Economic Theory, Agroeconomics and Marketing Yulia Alexandrovna Gunko, Associate Professor of the Department of Economic Theory, Marketing and Agroeconomics Yulia Viktorovna Rybasova, Associate Professor of the Department of Economic Theory, Marketing and Agroeconomics Ekaterina Grigorievna Agalarova.

“Participation in the DigitalSkills championship for a student of SSAU is already a big victory, since it was here that the opportunity presented itself to show the skills that he received at the university. We, as mentors, are pleased that this level is national. It is no secret that digital competencies and professions are those areas that require high intelligence, composure, analytical mind, and high motivation from a specialist. It is important that young professionals are in the focus of employers who rely on practitioners with advanced skills. Competence "Internet marketing" actively enters the life of professional marketers, goes in parallel and is being introduced into all areas of management activity. I believe that Mikhail's victory in DigitalSkills is a great recognition of our work that we invest in our students,” Yulia Gunko.

According to the results of the competition, a student of Stavropol State Agrarian University received the Medallion for Excellence* of the IV industry championship according to WorldSkills standards in the field of information technology DigitalSkills 2022.

*Medallion for professionalism - an award that confirms the achievement of an above-average result at a national or international championship in competitive competencies.

Mikhail also took part in the 5th National Interuniversity Championship, in the "Internet Marketing" competency.

“Internet marketing competence is by far one of the most versatile for the subsequent application of knowledge and skills in various areas of the national economy: from trade to the public sector. Today, specialists in the field of digital tools and services are in demand more than ever in the labor market. That is why, by developing this competence at the university, we can say with confidence that we increase the competitiveness of our graduates and create the necessary foundation for their employment,” Yulia Rybasova.

According to the results of the national championship, Mikhail won the 2nd place and a silver medal. We were able to ask a few questions to the economics student when he returned to the university.

How was the competition?

The competitions were held at the highest level, the preparation, the volunteer headquarters were just on top. There were no questions about where to go, what to do and so on. The championship was traditionally held in the WorldSkills format, with its own specifics and system of requirements. There were no difficulties!

Why did you choose this skill?

From the age of 18-19, I began to perceive advertising in the media differently. I looked at it not in terms of views, but wanted to understand how it works from the inside. Surely everyone had questions when, after viewing certain content, its ads were then shown on other sites. In the future, Marina Vladimirovna Ponomarenko (teacher at the Faculty of Economics) invited me to try my hand at the university championship, which I later won and realized that Internet marketing:

2. Not limited by your own knowledge

3. Allows you to think outside the box (the will of fantasy)

How did you prepare for the championship?

80% of success in any business is your own preparation, but 20% are the foundation of any endeavor. Without basic knowledge, terms, it is impossible to imagine any competence, and Internet marketing also applies here. Traditionally, my training was carried out at the TsOPP under the strict guidance of "3 marketing stars": Yulia Alexandrovna, Yulia Viktorovna, Ekaterina Grigorievna, they prepared me for Kazan for 2 years. I was strongly pressed by the fact that at first the interuniversity championship was supposed to be, then it was postponed and more than once, but the preparation was constant (perhaps in those days when they talked about cancellation less often, but it was not completely absent). I won't say it was easy. Internet marketing is by nature a specialty that can be seen in many different ways. "How many people, so many opinions" - the traditional phrase of our training. There were also misunderstandings, maybe minor quarrels somewhere, but we continued to work and work. In any case, I want to say a huge thank you to them! They showed me a world that 5 years ago I could not even think about.

Why is WorldSkills important?

The WorldSkills Association helps to "open your eyes" to what previously seemed strange to you and may not even be understandable. We are at a stage when it is better to try yourself in different competencies and test your capabilities. And the more mistakes, failures you get now - in the future, exactly the same mistakes will be insignificant for you. You can sit all your life and wait for the "magic ticket", but is it worth those expectations?
