Moscow hosted one of the main events for farmers - the Russian agro-industrial exhibition “Golden Autumn-2022”. The participation of the delegation of Stavropol State Agrarian University was successful. The scientific developments presented by the university at the exhibition received 14 medals. Agreements were reached on conducting joint research and development work with the Innopraktika Foundation and other partners. Negotiations were held with the Ministries of Agriculture of Russia and Tatarstan on the development and implementation of scientific and technical achievements of scientists from Stavropol State Agrarian University. The report of the Stavropol scientist provoked a discussion about the necessary changes in the Russian pedigree cattle breeding.
One of the key events of the “Golden Autumn” this year was the round table “Agrarian genetics in Russia: tools for the development of the industry and training”, at which the vice-rector for scientific and innovative work of Stavropol State Agrarian University Alexey Nikolayevich Bobryshev told the audience about the experience of SSAU in selection and genetics and results: “The aggravated problems of the industry are pushing us to work more actively in the field of ensuring food security and import substitution in areas where agricultural producers have a high dependence on imported seed and planting material - in some industries up to 80%. There is an acute shortage of personnel in this area. The task of developing domestic genetics and selection can only be solved in a comprehensive manner. Together with leading scientific and educational organizations and agricultural universities of Russia, complementing each other's capabilities, SSAU will implement a comprehensive end-to-end project on genetics and selection in animal husbandry and crop production,” said Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation, Professor A.N. Bobryshev.
Stavropol State Agrarian University has significant success in this area. A strong material and technical base has been created at the university for the development of nursery farming, including thanks to the federal project “Priority 2030”. There is a human resource with the necessary competencies and experience in creating virus-free planting material. Aleksey Nikolayevich shared his plans for the project with his colleagues: “At the first stage, we will focus on traditional breeding and provide agricultural enterprises with a sufficient amount of virus-free planting material. The technology is working; it needs to be scaled up. At the second stage, we plan to develop package solutions for gardening. And on the third - to introduce accelerated selection”.

“Stavropol State Agrarian University presented itself worthily at the main agro-industrial exhibition in Russia. Our experience, achievements and scientific developments, which we managed to implement thanks to participation in the Priority 2030 FP, aroused the interest of our colleagues and the support of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation. We are especially satisfied with participation in the Golden Autumn because we managed to conclude agreements on the implementation of our developments in the regions of Russia,” summed up the participation of the university delegation in the exhibition, the Acting Rector of SSAU Valentin Skripkin.
Of great interest to livestock breeders and the Ministry of Agriculture was the report of the professor of the Department of Private Animal Science, Breeding and Animal Breeding of SSAU Sergey Alexandrovich Oleinik on the organization of selection control of milk quality at the university. The regions were offered to adopt this experience, as it has already been done in Tatarstan. There is a possibility that our university will become an all-Russian platform for training specialists in the control-assistant service.
Traditionally, the university won a number of awards: 3 gold, 1 silver and 5 bronze medals “For the successful introduction of innovations in agriculture” were received by the Stavropol State Agrarian University for promising scientific developments in the field of agricultural technology, veterinary medicine and the economy of the agro-industrial complex.
