SSAU students were in the role of employees of the main department of the Bank of Russia

Students of the Faculty of Accounting and Finance took part in the business game "Key Rate", organized by the Stavropol Territory Branch of the Southern Main Branch of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.

The goal of the game was to ensure stable low inflation through the right decisions in the field of monetary policy and taking into account the given economic conditions. Participation was taken by 5 teams from the 1st and 2nd courses. Each acted as the main department in the structure of the Bank of Russia and had its own theme of specialization, which was worked out and studied throughout the country. Consumer demand, industry, agriculture, and monetary conditions were singled out as such federal specializations.

Before the start of the competition, representatives of the Bank of Russia spoke about monetary policy, inflation, how the consumer price index is calculated, and about the causes of inflation from both the supply and demand sides. Also, the Chief Economist of the Economic Department of the Stavropol Branch, Alexander Gladilin, held a master class on inflation targeting and factors affecting it.

Students showed their knowledge in economics and analysis of economic processes, and 3 winning teams received valuable prizes from the Central Bank of the Russian Federation. Also, the Management of the Branch for the Stavropol Territory of the Southern Main Branch of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation presented letters of thanks for their assistance in organizing and conducting the game "Key Rate of the Bank of Russia" of the Acting Rector of the Stavropol State Agrarian University Sitnikov Vladimir Nikolaevich, Dean of the Faculty of Accounting and Finance, Doctor of Economics, Professor Kostyukova Elena Ivanovna, Head of the Department of Financial Management and Banking, Doctor of Economics, Professor Sklyarova Yulia Mikhailovna.
