23.11.2022

On November 23, the 1st All-Russian Student Congress «Youth Ideas for the Development of the FoodNet Market» started at the Stavropol State Agrarian University, in which more than 150 young scientists and students from 16 agricultural universities of the country took part. Some of the inventions presented at the exhibition could not only be seen, but also tasted. This is exactly what the Governor of the Territory Vladimir Vladimirov, the Minister of Agriculture of the Territory Sergey Izmalkov and other honored guests did.

The purpose of the congress is to create a resource center for student scientific societies that will help children exchange ideas and implement them in life and production. As Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko recently noted at the fifth professorial forum "Science and Education in the Context of Global Challenges", it is universities that should become the driver for the development of economies in the regions.

The first congress of young scientists was held at the initiative of the Stavropol State Agrarian University thanks to the grant won by the university this year in the competition of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation for the development of student scientific societies in higher educational institutions of the country. The SSAU project “Agroinnopolis Stavropol: youth ideas for the FoodNet market” is aimed at creating conditions for involving young people in research and project activities.

- My path in science began in the first year from the boiling point at our university. Now I am the chairman of the student scientific society. The young scientist is first and foremost a seeker. Today's congress is a great opportunity to embrace the immensity, - Victor Savitsky, a participant from the St. Petersburg State Agrarian University, noted the importance of the event for young scientists.

From the variety of ideas and directions that the participants submitted to the competition, their eyes run wide. Students of the Stavropol and Kuban State Agrarian University, without saying a word, offered unusual pastries. Stavropol residents offered gluten-free cookies from amaranth, almond and fireweed root flour, and Kuban from hemp. According to the authors of the projects, alternative raw materials make it possible to prepare desserts with a high content of protein and nutrients.

Research activity touched different areas. From the food industry to sociology. Many ideas are planned to be implemented nationwide.

– Agriculture is becoming a real weapon for world states. You are at the forefront of the strategic direction of ensuring the food security of the state. Russia today is a participant in all world transactions, from fertilizers to grain, - said Vladimir Vladimirov, Governor of the Stavropol Territory, in his welcoming speech to the congress participants.

– It is quite obvious that the future of the agro-industrial complex of our country is primarily in your hands, in the hands of the beginning science. I would like to wish the participants to do a good job at the congress venues, successfully present projects and receive awards, experience and working connections that will help to realize their ideas, - Vladimir Sitnikov, Acting Rector of SSAU, wished good luck to all participants of the congress.

The 1st All-Russian Student Congress “Youth Ideas for the Development of the FoodNet Market” will continue its work at the Stavropol State Agrarian University until November 25 inclusive.
