Elena Stepanenko, Associate Professor of Ecology and Landscape Construction Department acted as an expert of the First Interregional Contest of children's environmental projects "Living Planet".
The contest was organized by Gazprom Transgaz Stavropol in cooperation with the Vernadsky Non-Governmental Environmental Fund. About 40 young ecologists from the Stavropol Krai, Astrakhan Oblast, North Ossetia - Alania, as well as young specialists of the gas transmission company participated in the contest.
Researchers of the Russian Ecological Academy and specialized educational institutions of the region, specialists of the Caucasian Directorate of Gazprom Gaznadzor, as well as leading environmentalists of Gazprom transgaz Stavropol were the experts. The jury of the Stavropol State Agrarian University included Elena Stepanenko, assistant professor of the Ecology and Landscape Construction Department, candidate of biological sciences.
The participants attended two online lectures adapted for young audiences by employees of the Foundation and prepared a public defense of ecoprojects. The teams presented presentations and ideas to the experts, which should help to reduce the level of negative human impact on the environment.
The winners of the "Living Planet" contest were the Ecobanda, Basil and Ecopatrol teams. The organizers awarded the most active children and young specialists of the company with commemorative diplomas and gifts.
