The festive event "Accounting and Finance Faculty: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow" brought together the faculty and management of the university, students and veterans of the faculty, as well as outstanding graduates - experts in the economic sector of the region and the country.
The Faculty of Accounting and Finance began its history back in 1962 with the training of specialists in the direction of "Accounting, Analysis and Audit", the first enrollment was only 32 students. Then it had the name "Economic", until in 1998 it was divided into economic and accounting and financial faculties. Today, the AFF trains specialists in the field of accounting, finance and credit, taxes and taxation, digital economy and economic security, includes 10 master's programs and 2 postgraduate programs. More than 700 students receive knowledge and practical experience, preparing to become professionals in the field of finance.
The rector of the Stavropol State Agrarian University Vladimir Sitnikov delivered a welcoming speech:
- The Accounting and Finance Faculty of the Stavropol State Agrarian University has always been famous. It was famous for its tradition, its school. Thanks to the veterans of the faculty, these traditions were laid down. What we have now is largely the merit of the older generations. The Faculty of Accounting and Finance is, undoubtedly, the history of the development of our university, our region in the post-Soviet period. Times were not easy at all. And now the economy of the region is in a phase of powerful development. This development is largely ensured by the competencies that the faculty provides today. We clearly understand the financial and economic models of many projects that are being implemented. The processes of educational programs are also being transformed. The faculty keeps up with the times, it cannot be otherwise. We build network interactions with our partners in terms of scientific centers, with colleagues we ensure the dynamic development of the faculty and, accordingly, the dynamic development of the university.
The Faculty of Accounting and Finance has graduated more than 10.5 thousand specialists who today occupy important positions in the system of the economic industry: from the banking sector to the Ministry of Finance. - I am pleased to congratulate you on the 25th anniversary of the Accounting and Finance Faculty of my alma mater. I used this word not by chance, for many hundreds of years this is the name given to universities that nourish their students spiritually. Let students not be offended by me, but the university is, first of all, teachers. I remember all my teachers. One of them, Viktor Arkadyevich Pipko, said: “Accounting is continuous. I didn’t study for a day - I forgot". He was right, the modern world has proven that education is a continuous process. - I have only good memories of student life, of teachers who, along with knowledge, invested in us a piece of their soul. I am working now on the territory of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, and it turned out that most of the leaders graduated from the Stavropol Agrarian University there.
