Young "Vavilovites" took first place in the international Olympiad

The team of the Stavropol State Agrarian University received a diploma of the first degree in the international "Vavilov Olympiad-2022", dedicated to the 135th anniversary of the birth of academician, scientist of world renown Nikolai Ivanovich Vavilov.

The Olympiad is organized by the Saratov State University of Genetics, Biotechnology and Engineering in an online format. 54 teams from all regions of Russia took part. The teams consisted of students from universities, colleges and secondary schools. Each had 3 participants.

Stavropol State Agrarian University was presented by third and second year students of the Agronomy direction: Daria Kondratova, Anastasia Logvina and Danil Denisenko, under the guidance of Olga Shabaldas, associate professor of the basic department of general agriculture, crop production, breeding and seed production named after. professor F.I. Bobryshev. The team had been preparing for the Olympiad for several months and showed worthy knowledge about the biography, scientific works, the modern significance of the scientific heritage, travels and geographical research of the world famous geneticist and breeder, academician Nikolai Ivanovich Vavilov.

The interest of young people in his scientific heritage does not fade away. The victory of the Stavropol Agrarian University team is a confirmation of perseverance, active life position and hard work of students! - noted the candidate of agricultural sciences, associate professor Olga Shabaldas.

For reference: the results of the Olympiad participants were evaluated by the jury chairman, dean of the agronomic faculty of Vavilov University, chairman of the Council of Young Scientists of the Volga Federal District, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Plant Growing, Breeding and Genetics, Candidate of Biological Sciences Lyudmila Kurasova.
