Students of SSAU proposed ways to develop tourism in Stavropol

02.02.2023

The Faculty of Socio-Cultural Service and Tourism hosted a research seminar "Management of tourist destinations" within the framework of the science Week in the SSAU.

At the seminar, students learned how the development of the tourist territory takes place. Associate Professor Irina Pavlenko gave examples of successful development of the tourist territory in Russia and abroad. Undergraduate and laboratory researcher Anastasia Morozova revealed the essence, components, types and role of tourist destinations. Zuleikha Talibova, a master's student and lecturer at the Faculty of Secondary Vocational Education, described the tools for promoting a tourist destination, points of attraction, places of localization of accommodation facilities and infrastructure that ensure the development of the tourist territory.

The participants of the seminar learned how to study the formalized and non-formalized brands of the Stavropol Territory, to form the image of a tourist destination. The students were divided into teams, and each offered options for the "central symbol" of the destination brand of the Stavropol Territory. The opinion coincided with all the teams – this is undoubtedly an elephant.

To achieve the mega–goal of developing tourist flow in the Stavropol Territory up to 5 million per year, students proposed a non-standard idea - the creation of a new family water park as a tourist "magnet". The seminar participants also identified channels for promoting and popularizing the already functioning object of rural tourism – the Ponomarev Melons.
