The Boiling Point of Stavropol State Agrarian University hosted the international forum "Modern Challenges of Rural Development: Social, Economic, Organizational and Legal Aspects". University scientists made presentations on the problems of agricultural territories of the region.
The forum was attended by about 200 people. The event brought together Mexico, Belarus, China, Uzbekistan and more than 15 Russian partner universities.
The purpose of the forum is to create a platform for a fruitful dialogue between scientists, practitioners and the scientific community to summarize research work and integrate theoretical and practical knowledge on socio-economic, organizational and legal problems of rural development.
– It is no coincidence that we chose the Boiling Point site for the forum. This is where we generate new ideas and try to bring them to life. I am sure that the questions raised will be in tune with the problems to be solved. One of the main theses for today is practical orientation. We have 20 representatives of production, so we will synchronize our reports with the practical component of the development of rural areas, - said Vice-Rector for Educational Work and Youth Policy, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Professor Ivan Atanov.
The first report was presented by the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Cultural Service and Tourism, Head of the Department of Tourism and Service, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Anna Ivolga. The scientific work on the topic "Prospective studies of sustainable development of rural areas: spatial and temporal demographic changes in the Calaus River basin in the North Caucasus (Russia)" was prepared jointly with the dean of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, Dr. Anna Burgos and SSAU master's student Anastasia Morozova.
Also, the report "Rural territories of Stavropol Territory: realities and prospects" was made by Associate Professor of the Department of State and Municipal Administration and Law, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Sergey Lugovskoy.
- According to statistics, about 200 thousand people are employed in agriculture. Today, the issues of development and competent use of the territory of the region are very acute. We need to invest in this area, finance it. Now more than ever it is important to hear science, understand today's needs of the economy, sociologists and issue a product that will allow us to jointly develop an economic policy that allows us to comprehensively develop agriculture, - said a graduate of SSAU, Minister of Agriculture of Stavropol Territory, Candidate of Economic Sciences Sergey Izmalkov.
