At the Department of Foreign Languages, a scientific and methodological seminar "Fundamentals of presenting research results" was held as part of the week of science at Stavropol State Agrarian University.
The seminar was organized by Associate Professors of the Department of Foreign Languages Alena Chepurnaya and Svetlana Mikhienko.
– The seminar aims to help students take the first steps towards developing the skills of writing a research article. These skills are of unconditional importance for the professional and personal development of students, given that science is one of the key life processes of a modern university, - Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages, Deputy Dean for Research at the Faculty of Social and Cultural Services and Tourism, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor Alena Chepurnaya.
First-year students of the Faculty of Agrobiology and Land Resources and the Faculty of Economics got acquainted with the main structural components of a research article and modern requirements imposed on them by Russian scientific journals, and also discussed linguistic features of a research article as a genre of scientific style of speech.
– In the process of immersion in scientific activity, students develop such qualities as an analytical mindset, the ability to think creatively, punctuality, and responsibility. We hope that our seminar will help students in their first steps in the scientific field, - Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages, Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor Svetlana Mikhienko.
