The final of the All-Russian Olympiad on Financial Literacy, Financial Market and Consumer Protection was held in StSAU

The final of the XVIII All-Russian Olympiad on Financial Literacy, Financial Market and Consumer Protection for high school students took place at the "Abc of Money" Business School of the SmartAgro Youth Technopark of Stavropol State Agrarian University.

The All-Russian Olympiad on Financial Literacy, Financial Market and Consumer Protection has been held since 2008 as part of the Olympiad movement, which was initiated by the Russian Council of School Olympiads under the Russian Union of Rectors. The Olympiad is included in the List of Olympiads of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation for the 2022-2023 academic year. Winning it gives benefits for admission to Russian universities in financial and economic specialties.

The purpose of the Olympiad is to form a generation of financially literate and responsible consumers, to assist talented schoolchildren in realizing their abilities regardless of where they live, study and the social and property status of their parents.

This year more than 80 thousand schoolchildren took part. More than three thousand reached the final, of which 172 high school students from the Stavropol Territory. The final of the Olympiad consisted of three stages: writing an essay on a chosen topic, solving two problems and a case, as well as a blitz game in which the participant's oral answer to an open question is assumed.

The coordinator of the university is the Department of Financial Management and Banking, which has been helping to organize the Olympiad finals for eight years.

The Bank of Russia has been participating in the organization of the Financial literacy Olympiad for several years, including developing tasks for the test and writing part, offering topics for essays and questions for the blitz game. The competitive tasks cover the entire range of topics on financial literacy – from general information about the types of organizations in the financial markets and the exchange rate to budget planning, debt burden analysis and business profitability assessment.

The winners and prize-winners of the All-Russian Olympiad on Financial Literacy, Financial Market and Consumer Protection of Financial Services received diplomas, certificates, prizes and memorable gifts. Finalists will have the opportunity to visit the State Duma, the Federation Council, the Moscow Stock Exchange, the head office of Sberbank of Russia – the Museum of Money.
