A memorial plaque dedicated to the memory of Dmitry Alexandrovich Samokhin, a student of the Electric Engineering faculty, a member of the special military operation, was installed in the Stavropol State Agrarian University.
The opening ceremony of the memorial was attended by the family and relatives of Dmitry Samokhin, the acting rector of the SSAU Vladimir Sitnikov, the head of the city of Nevinnomyssk, Hero of Russia Mikhail Minenkov, commander of the 2nd airborne assault battalion of the 247th Guards Special Caucasian Cossack Airborne Assault Regiment, Hero of Russia Dmitry Lisitsky.
— This is a truly historic event for the university — the memory of a young man who showed courage and heroism, and gave his life for our Motherland, for our country and each of us, will forever remain within the walls of our university and will be passed on to other generations, — said Vladimir Sitnikov.
Dmitry Samokhin was a student of the Faculty of Electric Power Engineering of StGAU. He received higher education by correspondence. In 2022, as part of the contract army of Russia, he went to the SVO zone to protect the civilian population of Donbass. In a difficult combat situation, he made the only right decision, showing dedication and heroism. He was 22 years old.
By decree of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, Dmitry Samokhin was awarded the Order of Courage (posthumously).
