Stavropol Agrarian University hosted a series of patriotic events dedicated to the Defender of the Fatherland Day

On the eve of the celebration of the Defenders of the Fatherland Day, a series of events dedicated to historical events and heroes of the war years were held at all faculties of the Stavropol State University.

The purpose of the campaign was to foster patriotism and heroism, a sense of duty and responsibility, love and respect for the Fatherland. The students were told the historical truth about the country, its achievements, development prospects in the current historical period, the possibilities of each person in personal and professional development. The events were dedicated to the Battle for the Caucasus, the liberation of Stavropol-Voroshilovsk, the Battle of Stalingrad, the liberation of Rostov, the anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan, the Chechen crisis, as well as current topical issues about the participation of Russian soldiers in a special military operation, preventing the spread of nationalism and Nazism.

The initiators and organizers of the thematic events were the Department of Philosophy and History headed by the Head of the Department, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Evgeny Vasilyevich Tufanov, Doctors of Philosophy, Professors Ivan Ivanovich Gulyak and Sergey Petrovich Zolotarev, associate professors, Candidates of Historical Sciences Inna Nikolaevna Karpenko, Olga Nikolaevna Shmatko and Vladimir Ismailovich Kurchev, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences Nikolai Gavrilovich Guzynin and the head of the department for educational work and social issues Tatiana Ivanovna Gunko.

— This is a celebration of courageous, strong people, true patriots of their country, all those who dedicated their lives to the noble cause of serving the Fatherland. This is truly a national holiday, which embodies the inseparable connection of all generations of armed defenders and the continuity of military traditions. The peaceful sky above, the peace of the citizens of the country, its honor and dignity are protected by the soldiers of the Russian Army: soldiers, pilots and tankers, border guards and sailors. There is not a single family in Russia that has not been touched by the wars: World Wars I and II, Afghan, Chechen, and today — participation in a special military operation. For many, this is the greatest feat of the people in the entire history of the world and at the same time such a tragedy that should never happen again, — said the head of the Department of Philosophy and History, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Evgeny Tufanov.

On February 15, a Lesson of Courage dedicated to the heroes of different generations was held at the Accounting and Finance Faculty. The invited guest was the head of the All—Russian public organization of veterans "Combat Brotherhood" Stavropol Regional branch - Nikolay Ivanovich Borisenko. Students were told about the exploits of the great defenders of the Fatherland: Alexander Nevsky, Alexander Suvorov, Mikhail Kutuzov, Konstantin Zhukov, as well as about the events and heroes of the Afghan War.

On February 16, the civil and patriotic event "Portrait of a War Hero" was held at the Accounting and Finance Faculty, where they remembered the brave citizens of our country who are now fighting for peace, and honored the memory of those who gave their lives for our Motherland. Students made reports on the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, the Afghan War, the Chechen War and the special military operation.

On February 17, competitions "Fun Starts" were held among the first-year students of the Accounting and Finance Faculty, timed to the Defender of the Fatherland Day. Students passed obstacle courses and relay races, demonstrating their physical fitness and cohesion. The first place was taken by the third group of the specialty "Economic security", the second place — the first group of the specialty "Economic security", and the third — the fourth group of the profile "Accounting, analysis and audit".

A round table "Patriotism of the Russian citizen" was held at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. Students made presentations about the heroes of different generations, and also performed musical compositions.

On February 18, the military-patriotic center "I have the Honor" began its work at the Faculty of Secondary Vocational Education. Interactive platforms worked as part of the opening.

On February 20, a meeting was held with the guide of the Youth Center "Patriot" Anna Kovalenko. A virtual tour "The city in a soldier's overcoat" was held for students.

On February 22, a festive concert was held at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. The creative teams of the Faculty together with the Faculty of Biotechnology took an active part in the organization and holding of the event.
