Acting Rector of the Stavropol State Agrarian University answered questions from the student community live.
The dialogue with the students took place on the official page of Vladimir Sitnikov "VKontakte". During an hour of airtime, the head of the university answered more than 50 questions about the transformation of the educational process, material support for students and plans for the development of the university.
In particular, students of the Faculty of Biotechnology and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine asked about the possibility of building a sports hall on the territory of the university's veterinary clinic. Vladimir Sitnikov noted that the project of a cultural and recreational complex is already being considered.
“Our strategic goal is to create a powerful sports facility that will satisfy all our needs. A project for the creation of a large cultural and recreational complex with an area of more than 4,000 square meters is already ready, - the rector commented.
Another hot topic of the direct line was the issue of continuing the renovation of dormitories. A major overhaul of dormitory No. 2, one of the largest campuses of the university, was recently completed. And the students wondered if other dormitories would be renovated. Vladimir Sitnikov explained that this year the university's resources will be directed not to the restoration of old buildings, but to the completion of repairs in the new dormitory No. 5.
- Having gone around all our hostels, I saw the main problem - the new and modern hostel No. 5 is only 50% loaded with students. A chic place in the city center, but it's half empty, and it's not right. This year we will focus our financial efforts on this hostel and introduce an additional 60 rooms. 20 million rubles have been allocated from the federal budget for these needs, we will also add our own budgetary funds and put the hostel in order, launch it at full capacity,” he noted.
The audience was also interested in the possibility of increasing material incentives for students. Vladimir Sitnikov stressed that the university will do everything possible to support active students who are focused on results.
— We are introducing many forms to support young scientists, our masters and graduate students - these are both federal and regional programs in which the university participates. I see no problem in returning to the Academic Council scholarship, supporting our outstanding athletes who achieve results. If there is a need to increase scholarships for activists who receive various diplomas and certificates for participating in events, then let's consider this issue as well. Today we have within 10% of student activists. I bow before their work, because it is these guys who, like drivers, are pulling out our university, - the rector emphasized.
