Stavropol State Agrarian University became one of the first agricultural universities of the Russian Federation, which adapted the experience of training civilian veterinarians to the specifics of the work of the military veterinary and public heaalth service.
The first training camp for specialists of the troops of the National Guard and the Russian Guard was held at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. About 60 personnel stationed on the territory of the North Caucasian Federal District took part in the educational intensive.
In the course of methodological and practical classes, scientists and professors of the university shared key practices that can be used to effectively organize the work of military veterinary units in hot spots.
- The military veterinary and public health service is an integral part of the biological safety of our country. And we are simply obliged to share the best developments and practices in veterinary medicine that can be used in military field conditions, - Vladimir Sitnikov, Acting Rector of SSAU, emphasized.
The activities of specialists in military veterinary medicine are based on a set of measures necessary to eliminate various biological and mechanical risk factors that can have a negative impact on the combat capability and combat readiness of military personnel. Therefore, special attention is paid to the issues of improving skills and abilities.
“Such an exchange of knowledge and experience helps to develop a unified methodology for organizing the activities of veterinary services of all forms and types within the framework of a single veterinary legislation, including military units,” said Professor Valentin Skripkin, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of SSAU.
In the future, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine plans to conduct educational and methodological meetings of military veterinarians on a regular basis.
