The establishment of the Institute will allow the university to launch elite educational programs and provide access for teachers and students to Russia's leading research centers in education and science. This became known during the international forum "Education. Human resources. Economy".
A new structural unit will appear on the basis of the Stavropol State Agrarian University within the framework of cooperation with Innopraktika. The Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, as well as the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry, participate in its creation. Frontier research on the practical application of genetic technologies in crop production and animal husbandry will be implemented at the Institute of Agrarian Genetics and Breeding of the SSAU.
According to Vladimir Sitnikov, the cooperation of the new institution with the leading scientific centers of the Russian Federation will allow to qualitatively increase the level of fundamental research that is necessary for technological and economic sovereignty.
It is expected, the educational process at the Institute will be built on the basis of advanced research and a project approach. The Institute will implement elite educational programs in breeding and genetics, individual educational trajectories and industrial postgraduate programs.
Genetic and breeding technologies are the main tools to ensure the high efficiency of agriculture, as well as to reduce the impact of climate on production. The contribution of genetics and breeding to the growth of productivity of world agriculture is already about 70%.
