24.03.2023

The library of the Stavropol State Agrarian University hosted a presentation of the monograph by the Associate Professor of the Department of Philosophy and History, Chairman of the Council of Veterans of SSAU Guzynin Nikolai Gavrilovich "The ups and downs and collisions of culture and civilization in the fate of Russia."

The event was attended by first-year students of the Accounting and Finance Faculty. The students got acquainted with the scientific work, shared their opinions and directly asked the author questions about the work.

- The monograph deals with a problem, the solution of which is a kind of historical code for solving all other problems in the fate of Russia. The plot of the relationship between culture and civilization in the historical scenario of Russia is complex and contradictory, and culture plays a dominant role in it, on which the fate of Russia largely depends. In the current dilemma of priorities “culture or civilization”, our answer, contrary to economic determinism, technocrats and pragmatists, is as follows: culture is the beginning and the basis of everything, and only then reforms, modernization, the market, the welfare and prosperity of the country. Russia should not dissolve its national-historical specificity in the integration civilizational processes of the globalizing world, without risking completely losing itself, - noted the author of the monograph Nikolai Gavrilovich Guzynin.

The presentation and exhibition of scientific works of Nikolai Gavrilovich was organized with the support of the staff of the SSAU scientific library under the guidance of director Marina Obnovskaya. The book was published in 35 copies in IPK AGRUS.
