Employees of the SSAU training and technical center "Unmanned aircraft in the agro-industrial complex" conducted an internship on the use of agricultural UAVs for the introduction of plant protection products. A series of practical classes was held in the field conditions of the educational and experimental farm of LLC Agrodom, one of the strategic partners of the university.
One of the key areas of the internship was the development of skills for the uniform application of microfertilizers and agrochemicals to the soil using unmanned aerial vehicles. Dean of the SSAU at the Faculty of Electrical Power Engineering, Candidate of Technical Sciences Maxim Mastepanenko notes that this area of UAV application today is of the greatest interest to agricultural producers of the Stavropol Territory.
— Due to unmanned aerial vehicles, farmers can carry out such work remotely at any time of the day. In addition, compared to ground-based processing methods, the introduction of protective equipment using drones saves up to 8,000 rubles per hectare due to the absence of the trampling effect and lower consumption of processing equipment, he stressed.
Currently, the Training and Technical Center "Unmanned Aviation in the Agro-Industrial Complex" of the Stavropol State Agrarian University has all the necessary competencies to train students and industry specialists in the use of UAVs in the field of agriculture. The university has a full range of professional unmanned aerial vehicles used for aerial photography, including a device for digital scanning of the earth's surface LIDAR and an agricultural drone XAG, which is capable of processing fields. All equipment was purchased thanks to the Priority 2030 university support program and the AGROINNOPOLIS development program.
