SSAU students learned how to increase productivity and maintain soil fertility

The faculty of agrobiology and land resources hosted a lecture organized by PhosAgro-Stavropol, a strategic partner of the university. The specialists of the enterprise told the students about the new Russian GOST for mineral fertilizers and mastered the skills of selecting and applying top dressing.

At the lecture, students learned about the nuances of producing agricultural products with improved characteristics and the new Russian GOST for mineral fertilizers, which sets the most stringent requirements in the world for the content of heavy metals and arsenic. PhosAgro fertilizers were the first mineral fertilizers in the country to be certified for compliance with the Russian national standard and reconfirmed. Future agronomists, using the practical experience of successful agricultural enterprises in the Stavropol Territory, have mastered the skills of science-based selection of types of fertilizers, calculating the dosage of their application, taking into account the characteristics and properties of soils based on an agrochemical survey. This approach, together with the use of high-quality mineral fertilizers, allows increasing the yield of field crops and maintaining soil fertility.

– SSAU has been cooperating very productively with PhosAgro-Stavropol for many years: we conduct joint agronomic experiments in the educational and experimental farm, laboratory diagnostics of soil samples, lectures and practical classes for students. The PhosAgro-Region educational center operates within the walls of the university, equipped with computers and multimedia equipment for better education, this contributes to the development of agricultural technologies in the region, - said the head of the Department of Agrochemistry and Plant Physiology, Candidate of Agricultural Sciences, Associate Professor Evgeny Golosnoy.
