StSAU scientists proposed methods to reduce food security risks in Russia

The professor of the Stavropol State Agrarian University has developed areas of activity that allow minimizing the risks of the country's food security and increasing the volume of domestic agricultural production. The results of the study were presented at the international conference "Actual Problems of the Global Economy".

The XXV International Scientific and Practical Conference "Actual Problems of the Global Economy" was held at the Patrice Lumumba Peoples' Friendship University of Russia. Stavropol State Agrarian University was presented by Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Igor Sklyarov. He made a presentation "Trends and factors affecting the reproduction of the resource potential of the agricultural sector of the Russian economy in the context of international sanctions."

The professor spoke about the prospects and main directions for the development of Russian agriculture in the context of globalization and the negative impact of sanctions. Also, the scientific work identifies priority tasks, the solution of which will minimize the risks of the country's food security and increase the volume of domestic production of agricultural products and their exports to countries in need of food, including:

Accelerating the process of import substitution and updating the material and technical base;

Localization of production of agricultural machinery;

Provision of water and electricity for the commissioning of new capacities of agriculture and processing industries;

Creation of domestic breeding and genetic centers for the Russian agro-industrial complex;

Conclusion of trade agreements, creation of trade missions abroad and access to new world markets;

Completion of the transition to sovereignty in the domestic agro-industrial complex and increasing export volumes;

Innovative development and high diversification of agricultural production, transition to saving production technologies, conservation and improvement of soil fertility, robotization and DigitalTechAgro.

The conference is not only a platform for presenting the results of scientific research by leading Russian and foreign scientists, but also provides an opportunity to test the results of research by young scientists, graduate students, masters and bachelors. The event was attended by scientists from leading universities and institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences, as well as more than two dozen foreign educational organizations.
