On 31 March 2013 Nicholay Mitrofanovich Kurennoy, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Horticulture, Viticulture and Wine Making commemorated the 90th anniversary.

Nicholay Mitrofanovich Kurennoy was born on 31 March 1923 in Dnepropetrovsk region.
Professor Nicholay Mitrofanovich Kurennoy is a veteran of World War II, senior sergeant, and platoon leader of military intelligence support. He was awarded the Order of the Great Patriotic War I degree, Order of Glory III degree, Order of Wartime Red Banner and 12 Medals.
He worked in the Stavropol State Agrarian University from May 29, 1953 as a Head of Silkworm Breeding Department. He was a Vice Dean of Agronomy Faculty from 1960, and then he became a Dean of the Faculty. From 1966 to 1989 he was the Head of Horticulture and Viticulture Department.
