20.05.2013

On May 17, 2013 in the assembly hall of the Stavropol state agrarian university talk-show «Who, if not we?» passed. The main issue which participants tried to answer «Who, if not we builds the future in the Caucasus?».

About 300 young people - heads of bodies on work with youth of North Caucasus Federal District, grantees and participants of the All-Caucasus forum «Mashuk» (2010-2012), curators of youth parliaments and the youth governments of North Caucasus Federal District, the experts supervising questions of the international relations - gathered for a discussion platform from all North Caucasus Federal District. The organizer was the Committee on Affairs of Youth of Stavropol Territory.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Stavropol Territory S. N. Asadchev, the Vice-Chairman of Coordination Council of Uniform Youth Parliamentary Movement of Russia Timur Sagiyev, the Vice-Chairman of Association of the Youth Governments of the Russian Federation Timur Bashirov, the Head of Committee on Affairs of Youth of the Russian Congress of the people of the Caucasus Sultan Togonidze were among the guests.

The leaders, well known television journalists Maxim Grevtsev and Tatyana Fedorova, brought up such topical issues for discussion as if there is an instrument of impact on reality, about functioning of youth parliaments, as one of such tools. At forum it was spoken about blogs as mass media, rules on their functioning and bloggers’ responsibility for publications. Forum «Mashuk-2013» which would take place in the summer was also discussed.

«We have a need, looking each other in the face, to discuss common problems and ways of their decision. Especially because young generation is our future», − the Deputy Prime Minister of Stavropol Territory Sergey Nikolaevich Asadchev told participants and urged everybody «not to be indifferent neither to each other, nor to seniors and to do good more».

Among the acute problems submitted for discussion, was the image of the Caucasus. Whether it is created objectively or mass media respond to the request of society and publish only negative news about the Caucasus? Participants came to a conclusion that time already came to create new stereotypes, and all of them are some kind of goodwill ambassadors of the Caucasus. «So let's think of it every day, during any our action and if not we, nobody changes the relation to еру situation in the Caucasus", − the Chief Editor of TV channel REN-Stavropol Maxim Grevtsev summed up to conversation.
