The Olympic torch relay of 2013 World Student Games started at the Stavropol state agrarian university

On May 23, 2013 at the courtyard of Stavropol State Agrarian University the start to Olympic torch relay of 27th 2013 World summer Student Games in Kazan was given. On the SUV with 2013 World Student Games symbolics accompanied by keepers the fire was transported from the airport in the Stavropol state agrarian university which acted in the region as the partner of carrying out torch relay. In a university courtyard the scene on which Fire bowl was solemnly lit was established. Thus, fire of World Student Games was exposed on a public inspection for several hours.
The Deputy Prime Minister of Stavropol Krai Sergey Nikolaevich Asadchev lit the first torch of relay from fire Bowl, and honor the first to carry by a torch with fire of World Student Games the rector of the Stavropol state agrarian university, the corresponding member of Russian Academy of Agrarian Sciences, the professor, the deputy of the Duma of Stavropol Krai Vladimir Ivanovich Trukhachev was awarded.
He transferred the fire to the twofold champion of 1985 World Student Games in run to 800 meters and relay of 4х400 meters, the international class master of sports of the USSR on track and field athletics Nadezhda Loboyko, and she, in turn – to Ekaterina Voytysheva, the student of accounting and finance faculty of SSAU, the head of volunteer group "Tolk" who will represent Stavropol Krai on 2013 World Student Games and Olympic Games−2014.
Then the column from runners moved with lit fire on streets of Stavropol: torchbearers replaced each other through each hundred meters. In total they overcame distance in 3600 meters on the central city streets − Lenin, Pushkin, Dzerzhinsky, October Revolution and Charles Marx. Shortly before the torch relay start a press conference in the Stavropol state agrarian university took place where the deputy minister of agriculture and the food of the Republic of Tatarstan Talgat Galimzyanovich Tagirzyanov, the Deputy Prime Minister of Stavropol Krai Sergey Nikolaevich Asadchev, the rector of the Stavropol state agrarian university Vladimir Ivanovich Trukhachev, the deputy minister of sports of Stavropol Krai Sergey Sergeyevich Serikov and the head of the Stavropol division of the Caucasian branch of JSC "Megafon" Igor Evgenyevich Pirozhenko met journalists of regional and city mass media.
On a question of journalists why agrarian university was chosen as a launch pad for World Student Games torch relay the Deputy Prime Minister of Stavropol Krai Sergey Nikolaevich Asadchev answered that this choice is obvious as students of SSAU make the majority in the Stavropol delegation on 2013 World summer Student Games. From six Stavropol athletes four are students of the Stavropol state agrarian university. And the deputy minister of sports of Stavropol Krai Sergey Sergeyevich Serikov added that exactly on SSAU athletes the regional sports department rests the greatest hopes upon participants.
− How did you manage to reach such results in sports? − such question was addressed to the rector of the Stavropol SAU Vladimir Ivanovich Trukhachev.
− Annually we put in sports of 15−20 million rubles and we consider that it isn't enough of it.
But if other regional higher education institutions followed our example, there would be more Stavropol athletes on the World Student Games. In our university we have the sport center best in edge, hundred athletes of university receive two additional grants monthly and if they leave on competitions, we provide them worthy conditions for accommodation and solid travel allowance.
The Stavropol state agrarian university in relay of fire presented: the rector, the corresponding member of Russian Academy of Agrarian Sciences, professor V. I.Trukhachev, the student of accounting and finance faculty, the leader of volunteer group TOLK Ekaterina Voytysheva, the student of economics faculty, the silver prize-winner of the World Cup in boxing Sergey Nikitin, the undergraduate of the agronomical faculty, the deserved master of sports on acrobatics Anjelica Soldatkina, the graduate student of faculty of mechanization of agriculture, the leader of student's group "Kolos" Fustochenko, the student of accounting and finance faculty Alexander Polyansky, the deputy head of the center of aesthetic education Anatoly Golovin.
In end of torch relay Talgat Tagirzyanov passed the 2013 World Student Games torch to the rector of the Stavropol SAU Vladimir Ivanovich Trukhachev. Now the torch will be stored in a museum of history of university.
