On November 2-3, 2013 on the basis of sport complex of SSAU the first round of the II championship of Stavropol Krai on basketball among men's teams passed. Opening of the Championship took place on November 2 and it was visited by Irina Vladimirovna Kuvaldina fulfilling duties of the Deputy Prime Minister of Stavropol Krai , Igor Vasilyevich Andryushchenko, the chairman of the Duma committee of Stavropol Krai on the budget, Vladimir Ivanovich Trukhachev, the Rector of the Stavropol State Agrarian University, the deputy of the Duma of Stavropol Krai, Sergey Vladimirovich Anisimov, the general director of JSC dairy factory«Stavropolsky», the member of civic chamber of Stavropol Krai, Yury Nikolaevich Pavlov, the representative of the president of the Russian Federation on Basketball in North Caucasus federal district, Vladimir Evgenyevich Yanushkin, the chief of physical culture and sports department of administation in Stavropol, Andrey Olegovich Vorontsov, the ataman of Mikhaylovsk, Antony (Skrynnikov), prior of the temple Dmitry Donskogo and priest, Dmitry Vladimirovich Lokhansky, President of Federation on basketball of Stavropol Krai. Dmitry Vladimirovich Lokhansky told that this year the championship takes place in two divisions: "A" (the highest league) and "B" (the first league). In every league eight clubs play. The winner of division "B" will receive the permit in division "A" the next year, and the worst team of division "A" will fall to tournament by rank below.
In division "A" play four Stavropol teams: "Gazprom", JSC INFA, dairy factory "Stavropolsky", JSC «Teploset», and also JSC «Arnest» (Nevinnomyssk), teams of Essentuki, Lermontov and Pyatigorsk.
Division "B" includes: Stavropol "Vodokanal", SCYSSOR №1 and SSAU, national teams of Budyonnovsk, Mineralnye Vody, Georgievsk and Lermontov's second team, and also the team of village Kurskoye.
Performances of the show ballet "Millennium" and dancing collective "Stylnye shtutki" became a gift to participants from the Rector and students of the Stavropol State Agrarian University.
The first round of the region championship on basketball among labor collectives of krai in division "A" came to the end with the following results: "Gazprom TransGas" − "Arnest" − 75:57, "Information" − "Yessentuki" − 62:51, ISS – Pyatigorsk – 89:75, "Heating system" – Lermontov – 79:53.
