«Maslennitsa» festivities took place in Agrarian University

On February 26, 2014 the Stavropol State Agrarian University said goodbye to winter: in a courtyard of Higher Education Institution wide «Maslennitsa» sang and danced. In celebrations it is elegant, creatively and that is called with a spark the students of SSAU took part.
Eleven platforms were developed in the yard: one from each faculty, common from trade-union committee and an interethnic council. Tables were simply full with different dishes of food, in crowd of students «skomorokhi» and «korobeiniki» walked up and down, and everyone treated pancakes with the most various stuffings.
Students took part in competitions, went «khorovody», were treated, but really inspired with the appearance of the Rector — Vladimir Ivanovich Trukhachev. Having warmly congratulated everybody, he was photographed with children for memory, approached to each table and easily broke with students into dance.
And to add fun to competitive spirit there were competitions among faculties on the most Pancake week dish, the biggest pile of the pancakes, the best «korobeinik», the best effigy, and the best performance were held. However, winners didn't manage to be chosen: all participants were prepared perfectly.
"Students of Agrarian love Russian tradition of farewell to winter very much. Many children consider that it is good when in such cheerful format the continuity of generations is provided. Everybody with pleasure dress up in national suits, dance the Russian dances, eat our traditional dishes", − the chairman of student's trade-union committee Nikolay Golovin notes.
