At the faculties of auditing and finance, economy and electrical power engineering faculty there took place the student's scientific conference "Patriotism in the history of Russia" and scientific readings "The Great Patriotic War and its reflection in historical memory", devoted to the 69th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Actions took place on May 6 and 13, 2014. They were organized by lecturers of the department of philosophy and history and members of the student's center of civil and patriotic education "Patriot" for first-year students.
The main organizer and the host of the conference – professor S. B. Kalinchenko, reports were held by – the head of the department, associate professor N. G. Guzynin, professor S. V. Yanush, associate professor I. N. Kravchenko, senior lecturer E. V. Tufanov and the manager of the museum of history of the university O. N. Shmatko. They held not only interesting reports, but also gave students an opportunity to watch unique archival video records.
First-year students prepared the reports supported by presentations: A. Dubrovin "World War I", Z. Tkhazaplizheva "My Grandfather - the Hero of the Soviet Union - landed the Burning Plane in the suburb of Berlin", E. Astakhova "An echo of passes of Hindu Kush" (scientific supervisor – S. B. Kalinchenko); D. Dedkova, V. Dvoretskaya, E. Sokolskaya "Humanity test", V. Myasoedova, O. Kozlitina "Heroes of Stavropol Territory", A. Ilchenko "Roads of Life and the victory", Yu. Karpova "Heroes of my small Motherland" (scientific supervisor – I. N. Kravchenko).
As a result of the conference the most active students were awarded by diplomas.
