Evgeniya Markina, 5th year student of the faculty of social and cultural service and tourism won I place in the championship of Russia on Thai boxing, which took place in early September 2014 in the city of Sevastopol (Republic of Crimea). The competition was attended by more than 250 best athletes from 37 regions of the country. In addition, in the framework of the championship of Russia there was held an international sports event for juniors - "Friendship Cup", which was attended by teams from Russia, Transnistria, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Lithuania and Latvia. Competitions of this level have become a significant event, which brought together on the same ring athletes from different regions and countries, who are interested in the same kind of sport - Thai boxing.
Evgeniya was awarded the title of champion of Russia on Thai boxing, which proves again – an active and determined person can achieve a lot! After all, Evgeniya is not only an athlete, beauty and excellent student, but more recently - a young mother, that did not stop her from becoming the champion of Russia.
And from 21 to 28 September, the national team, formed from the gold medalists of the championship, will defend the colors of the Russian flag at the European Championships in the Polish city of Krakow.
We will shout for Evgeniya and for Russia, because it is the athletes who with their records and achievements glorify the Russian sports and are a role model for the youth!
