Agricultural University held a Youth Forum on Election Law

November 6, 2014, on the basis of the Stavropol State Agrarian University held a youth forum "YOUR CHOICE". Teams from twelve universities of the Stavropol region gathered to demonstrate their knowledge of electoral law and process.

Participants were welcomed by the Chairman of the Electoral Committee of the Stavropol Region Evgeny Demyanov: "it is remarkable that the forum takes place in the year of the big elections in the regions, September 14, we elected the Governor of the Stavropol region. We have repeatedly said that the youth is the future of Russia, especially young people in the near future will be to choose the future of our country. We encourage our young people not only to come to the polls, to vote, but also to work on the elections as observers".

In preparation for the elections the Electoral Commission of the Region was seriously trained, including the basis of the Agrarian University. For the great help in this work Yevgeny Demyanov gave a Gratitude Letter to the Rector of the University, Vladimir Ivanovich Trukhachev. Also at the beginning of the forum were presented letters of appreciation to representatives of volunteer groups: Stanislav Zakusilo, Alina Cechina, Eugenia Strekalova.

The results of the best work on the issues of electoral law and the electoral processwere summed up. So, in the category of "Educational-Methodical Manual" the first degree diploma was awarded to 4th year student of Economic Faculty SSAU Julia Shuvayeva, and in the category "Abstract" were awarded 3 year student of the Economic Faculty of SSAU Darya Pankratova and 1 year students Svetlana Kulidjanova and Katherine Lukyanchenko.

All the teams took part in the Quiz on the electoral law and process, which took place in three rounds. During the first, entitled "Business Card" teams had to think up their slogan and logo using the words "right", "youth" and "elections". During the second round "Great Elector" teams had to answer questions about the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation. In particular, what is depicted on the shield emblem of CEC, who is the chairmen of the Central Election Commission, what is the minimum age limit for candidates for the post of President, and the penalties for refusing to participate in elections, which are used in different countries. During the third round teams presented their creative hometask.

Participants were assessed by of the Expert Commission headed by the Chairman of the electoral Committee of Stavropol Region Evgeny Demyanov. Other members of the Expert Commission were Vice-Rector Olga Lisova, Deputy Chairman of the Electoral Committee of the Stavropol territory Stepan Lipirov, Secretary of the electoral Commission Olga Radionova and a member of the Electoral Commission Victoria Ephremova.

According theresults of three rounds the team of the Stavropol State Agrarian University took the secondprize, just slightly behind the representatives of the Medical University. Oleg Smolin, Tatiana Matveeva and Elizabeth Firstova were marked as the most active participants. They all are students of the Faculty of Economics.
