Young scientists of SSAU were among the winners of the Russian startup tour

10 competitive works of scientists of the Stavropol State Agrarian University were presented at the all-Russian startup tour. It took place on February, 3-4 2015 in Rostov-on-don. Russian startup tour is the largest Russian project aimed to search interesting innovative projects and to develop professional competencies of beginners among start-up teams, that implement projects in the sphere of high technologies, organized by "Skolkovo", "Rusnano", the Federal programm "Zvarykinsky project", "Russian venture company”, the Fund of assistance to small forms of enterprises development in the scientific-technical sphere.

The conference program consisted of training and competition parts. Pitch sessions were held simultaneously on the thematic areas corresponding to the areas of interest of the Fund clusters including IT, biomedical, energy efficiency and industrial technologies. Besides the fact that the jury each of the areas assessed the quality of each project, participants of the pitch sessions received some advice from experts. Thus, experts recommended to minimize one of the startup projects, and to have more detailed understanding of consumer needs in another.

According to the “Skolkovo” Vice-President, Executive Director of the IT cluster Igor Bogachev, most participating of the contest are "of a very high quality". The jury had a difficult work to identify the best.

As a result, the work "System of continuous signaling” by Maxim Mastepanenko, assistant of the Theoretical Foundations of Electrical Engineering department of the Electrical Engineering Faculty took the 1st prize in the track "Industrial technology" and received an invitation to the 2nd stage of the tour, where the winners of the regional stage in early June in Moscow at the conference Startup Village will be able to present their projects and communicate with businessmen, investors and government officials.

Presentation of the microclonal reproduction of plants by Ivan Chuksin, a postgraduate student of the Ecology and Landscape Architecture Faculty was highly appreciated by the jury of pitches and managing partner of investment company Starting Capital Alexey Girin. The Seed Fund intends to provide Stavropol researcher with the opportunity to become a member of their acceleration program and to obtain investments for his project.
