Competition of future agronomists on protection of plants

Graduates of Faculties of Ecology and Landscape Architecture and Agrobiology and Land Rresources took part in an intellectual game of "Zarazikha" (Plant protection – Care and Image of a good Agronomist). Teams solved educational and informative problems with huge interest, applying scientific-theoretical knowledge (the competition "Magic seven-petal flower", competition of captains, a puzzle) and practical skills (a "mute" box). Students showed a creative approach in the competitions "Business Card" and "Homework". The last was called "The scientist-agronomist on plant protection sounds proudly”. The graduates of a bachelor degree explained more precisely and creatively who was a scientist –agronomist on plant protection (the Actimel team, the 4th course of a bachelor degree) and according to the offer of the jury they got additional points. The final victory was won by the SKOR team (the 5th course of a special programme of Faculty of Ecology and Landscape Architecture). The head of the Department of Chemistry and Plant Protection, doctor of agricultural sciences A. P. Shutko, associate professor L. V. Tuturzhans and the assistant L. A. Mikhno organized and held event. Teachers of faculties were a part of jury.

During methodical discussion of results of interactive occupation the participants of the project came to a conclusion that graduates of a special programme who study for five years, have higher level of a psychological maturity and professional competence. It once again confirms expediency of opening in 2015 at the Department of Chemistry and Plant Protection the master program "Ecologically Safe Systems of the Integrated Protection of Crops against Harmful Organisms" where graduates of a bachelor degree will be able to acquire additional professional knowledge and communicative skills.
