The memory of the great poet

Freshmen of Agrarian University attended the opening of a memorial plaque immortalizing the memory of Lermontov. The solemn ceremony was held on the eve of the 201st anniversary of the birth of the great poet. The Mayor of Stavropol George Kolyagin and descendant of Lermontov, Vladimir Sokolov opened a plaque.Staying of Lermontov in Stavropol inscribed as a bright page in the history of the city. He stayed here with relatives and attended social gatherings, wandered through the streets, made sketches for his works. And the house on Prospect of October Revolution, 14, where there was a memorial plaque in the 30-ies of the XIX century, was a military hospital. Here, during his soldiering in the Caucasus Mikhail Lermontov was treated.
