Scientific Library has completed a series of classes with students and graduate students of the first course on the basics of information culture, library science and bibliography.
In the classroom, students have acquired skills in traditional and electronic resources: card catalogs and card files, the electronic catalog, electronic library system. First-year students were registered in the electronic library systems «Znanium.com», «Lan’», «University Library ONLINE». Registration will allow them to use electronic textbooks represented in ELS. Classes are conducted in groups of 46 first-year students. They were attended by about 1,000 students. The effectiveness of training conducted confirmed by the growth statistics appeals to readers of electronic library resources, increasing information literacy of students.
During the classes for the course «Information and bibliographic support for scientific and research work of young scientists» first-year graduate training got skills with reference aids libraries with bibliographical apparatus of scientific work, general and subject bibliography, interlibrary loan, information resources in research work. Future Scientists conducted a search of scientific publications on the topic of research in the Russian State Library dissertations, electronic library systems, electronic catalog of the library. Particular attention was paid to the knowledge of scientific and metric databases. Now, post-graduate students will be able to easily work with international abstracts databases (SCOPUS, Web of Science) and the national bibliographic database Science Citation (SC).
